Quill Meet · for Mac

Every call, noted.

No bot in the room. Jefferson takes the notes.
The Quill app icon: an engraved feather quill on cream, its nib trailing a neon line.

Quill Meet records the call you're on, whether Zoom, Teams, Meet or a phone on speaker, straight from your Mac. When you hang up, Jefferson has the transcript, the summary and the action items.

Version 0.1.0 · macOS 13 Ventura or later · Apple silicon and Intel · signed and notarized by Apple

What it does

The notes write themselves.

01

Any call, no bot.

It listens to your microphone and to what your Mac plays, so nobody joins the meeting and nothing needs installing on the other side.

02

Starts with your calendar.

When a meeting with a Zoom, Teams or Meet link begins, Quill Meet offers to record it. Or start one yourself from the menu bar.

03

Summary and action items.

Jefferson writes the summary and picks out who agreed to do what, by when. They land with the rest of your meetings.

04

You and them, apart.

Your side and the other side are recorded separately, so the transcript knows who said what.

05

Only the people on the call.

The meeting is visible to you and the people invited to it, under the same rules as every Jefferson meeting.

06

Jefferson Meet, too.

Join Jefferson's own meeting rooms from the app. Those record themselves, so Quill Meet stays out of the way.

Private mode

Your audio stays on your Mac.

In private mode, the default, Quill Meet turns speech into text on your computer. Only the text goes to Jefferson; the recording never leaves the machine and is deleted once the notes are in. Prefer speed on an older Mac? Standard mode sends the audio to Jefferson's own transcription service, which keeps nothing.

Default

Private.

Transcribed on your Mac. Audio never leaves it. Every request the app makes is listed in Settings › Network log, so you can check.

Optional

Standard.

The audio goes to Jefferson's own speech-to-text, on infrastructure we run. Nothing is kept after the transcript comes back.

Tell everyone you're recording.

Before every recording, Quill Meet asks you to confirm that everyone on the call knows. Some states require every person's consent. Your confirmation is kept with the meeting.
Install

Two minutes, start to finish.

  1. Download and open the DMG.

    QuillMeet-latest.dmg. Double-click it in Downloads.

  2. Drag Quill Meet to Applications.

    Then eject the disk image.

  3. Open Quill Meet and sign in with Bio-ID.

Use the same account you use for the portal and Ask Jefferson.

  4. Allow the microphone and system audio.

On your first recording macOS asks twice: Microphone (allow it), and Screen & System Audio Recording, which is how Quill Meet hears the other side of the call. It never records your screen.

  5. Record a call.

Click Record, confirm you've told everyone, and talk. Stop when you hang up; the notes follow in a minute or two.

It updates itself.

Quill Meet checks for a new version and offers to install it. Settings › Check for updates does it now.
Requirements
